There are many great games out there and some of the best-selling games were made a long time ago but ever since, they are keeping their position right where they belong to, on the TOP. Some of these classic games are Mario, Pokemon and Tetris. Can you guess who holds the lead in 2020?

Diablo III is obviously one of the TOP best-selling games in the world. Its previous version, Diablo II was a large success and a milestone in every gamers’ life, however between the two version, there are more than 12 years difference which kept people waiting until the 15th of May 2012 when it was finally released and not more than 3 years after the initial release, more than 30 million of copies was sold. The action-RPG game was initially released on PC before it became available on last-gen consoles in 2013 – 2014.

9. Wii Sport Resort (33.15 million)

Wii Sports Resort is the 3rd best-selling game of Nintendo, yet it is pretty underrated, in fact it is one of Nintendo’s lowest-ranked game. It was released on the 25th of June 2009 on one platform only, the Wii console. More than 33 million of copies has been sold which makes Wii Sports Resort the TOP 9 best-selling games of all times.

8. Mario Kart Wii (37.25 million)

The official figures are origination from Nintendo itself which makes Mario Kart Wii the second most selling game on Wii platform. It was released on the 10th of April 2008, and since then, over 37 million of copies has been sold which makes it the 8th most selling games ever.

7. Super Mario Bros (40 million)

Super Mario Bros is one of the old players which is very well known, and which was released on the 13th of September 1985. The total amount of pieces sold are reaching more than 40 million, however the virtual consoles such as Nintendo, Wii or 3DS are not counted into this figure which could potentially move it up a position but without the sufficient data, it is on the 7th place of the TOP selling games in 2020.

Pokemon was a big success and even until nowadays with over 45 million of copies sold over the decades. As of 2020, 1.5 million of copies have been sold on virtual machines according to Nintendo. The franchise has collectively sold over 300 million copies in total!

Playerunknown's battlegrounds also known as PUBG was initially released on the 23rd of March 2017 in early access. By June 2018, only a year after the release, it had sold over 50 million of copies which makes this game the 5th TOP best-selling games of all time (free downloads are not counted). It is staggering because it is such a new player in the field, yet it captures a big chunk of players worldwide. PUBG and PUBG Mobile combined together has a staggering 400 million of registered players.

Wii Sports is a fantastic creation of Nintendo which attracts people from all ages. As the official sale figure shows, it is Nintendo’s most selling game ever that has over 82 million of sales in total. Wii is favoured by many people and it is because Wii was one of the first who introduced the idea of using motion controllers. Their main objective was to create something that people can use for entertainment purposes as well as actually experiencing physical advantages of doing so.
